Every piece goes under the microscope before it goes anywhere near an ultrasonic. One of our sales associates checks for cracks, chips and loose stones first, and tells you about anything they find before cleaning begins.
That order matters. A stone that is already loose or a gemstone with an existing fracture can be made worse by cleaning, so we would rather find it and talk to you about it than hand back a surprise.
