Do I need an appointment?

No, you do not need an appointment in order to shop in our showroom or to speak with one of our 8 qualified appraisers. Our offices are open Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (7 p.m. on Thursday). Please feel free to stop by whenever it is most convenient.

If you are interested in working with a specific appraiser or sales associate we do recommend either making an appointment or calling ahead. Our custom jewelry and repair department also works on an appointment basis. Please call 704.364.1391.

Do you consign jewelry?

Yes, we do! Perry's will agree to consign certain items over $1,000.00. Please understand that a consignment is not a guarantee of sale.

Do you buy coins or antiques?

Yes! Perry’s has a numismatist and a personal property appraiser on staff.  Our coin specialist busy all types of coin collections, from gold and silver bullion to rare and collector coins. No matter how small or large, Perry’s will buy your collection! We also buy all types of paper money, including Confederate and foreign bills, and some stamp collections.

Perry’s does not generally buy furniture, statuary or appliances. We will, however, buy any and all silver, including flatware and tea sets, as well as a few exceptional pieces of porcelain or crystal.

To speak with Steve or Louise, please call 704.364.1391.

Perry's purchases silver plated items as well.

What’s the current price of gold?

The market trading price of gold and other precious metals is constantly changing. You can find today's gold price at Kitco.com.

What will you pay for my jewelry?

It’s impossible to give an accurate quote for a piece of jewelry without seeing it in person. Unlike many other gold-buying businesses in the area, Perry’s Fine, Antique & Estate Jewelry actually refurbishes and resells most of the jewelry we buy. This means our appraisers value your jewelry as an entire piece, rather than only for metal, and will often pay you a higher price.  Our price for any item depends on many factors: the quality and condition of the item, the market price of gold on the day of sale, and the popularity of the design. The minimum we will ever pay for “scrap” metal is 75% of the current market value.

How much does an appraisal cost?

Perry’s offers two types of appraisals, verbal and written.

During a verbal appraisal, one of our qualified appraisers will look at your jewelry, coins or personal property and give you an approximate retail value, as well as offer you a buying price. This is a free service – perfect for those who simply want to know the value of a piece, as well as those who are looking to sell old or unwanted jewelry and coins.

A written appraisal is typically used for insurance or estate purposes. This includes detail measurements of your piece, as well as color pictures and a stated retail replacement value. Written appraisals are done at varying prices depending on their complexity, but they generally start at $75. Our appraisers typically take a few days to complete a written appraisal. If you do not feel comfortable leaving your items in our safe, we can do the appraisal in front of you. The fees for a while-you-wait appraisal start at $100 for the first item.

The prices of gold and other precious metals have almost tripled in the past 5 years alone. If you haven’t had your precious items appraised recently, they could be undervalued. Call 704.364.1391 today to set up an appointment with any one of our 8 qualified appraisers.
